Soulbind Oath of the Dranae
The Dark Elves of Umbria are constantly bombarded by a soul-oppressing darkness that leaches away at their very being at every moment. At puberty, they swear an oath – a ritual that binds their soul to another member of their tribe, a soulmate of sorts; by wrapping a chain of spikes and hooks to their arms so that the metal is always digging into their flesh, they constantly remind themselves that they are living in a land saturated with death and darkness. The whole oath can be found on youtube with musical accompaniment composed by Devin Vibert, here. To read more about Lucas J.W. Johnson’s serial microfiction experiment Azrael’s Stop, head over to azraelsstop.com.
The Tarasque & The Ash
If you haven’t yet heard The Tarasque & The Ash, it is a modern retelling of The Beauty & The Beast written and recorded by Devin Vibert and released as part of an ongoing joint project known as Yllipsis. Brooding piano melodies and death-obsessed lyrics lend themselves to an eerie story about the darker side of human nature. You can listen to the song here and check out the bandcamp home of Yllipsis here.
The Dragonwalk March
Nael Darkfell’s days of entertaining at The Stop seem to be at an end with the controversial nature of his newest song The Dragonwalk March. Visit Nael Darkfell’s bandcamp page to hear more of his music, or visit azraelsstop.com for the backstory behind this song, and why it’s getting him kicked out of his only remaining haunt.
New Look, New Music
